They’re baaaacckk! Started in 1981 at Richmond’s McGuire Veteran’s Hospital, the National Veteran’s Wheelchair Games returns to its home in June. Over 600 athletes will compete around the region in sports ranging from ping pong to power soccer, track to trap shooting, swimming to slalom. Games range from skill and technique games like billiards and marksmanship to more traditional contests like track & field and weightlifting. Venues will be spread throughout the Richmond Metro area.
Athletes range from Viet Nam-era veterans to young men just returning from our conflicts today. You can also cheer some local heroes, as some Richmond veteran-athletes are going to participate!
